Application instructions:
- The iron should be set to the highest setting, but without the steam function. Be sure to preheat the iron sufficiently before ironing.
- Place the fabric on which the patch is to be ironed as flat as possible on the surface. If the fabric is not flat and wrinkle-free, the adhesive cannot adhere properly. The consequence: the patch warps and does not hold well.
- Now pre-iron the area where the patch is to be applied. This removes any remaining small wrinkles and pre-warms the fabric.
- Place the patch as smoothly and straight as possible on the clothing in the correct position to prevent wrinkles from forming later. Place a thin cloth over it (e.g., parchment paper, cloth handkerchief, kitchen towel, etc.) to protect the patch.
- Then iron with the hot iron from the inside out. This means using only the tip of the iron. Apply sufficient pressure from the inside out. The adhesive in the transfer film of the patch will melt and turn slightly brownish.
- The ironing time should be about 20-30 seconds with medium pressure. Not too short, so that the fabric adhesive can melt and bond with the surface, but not too long, so that excessive heat does not damage the fabrics.
- Edges and especially tips of the patch should be treated particularly intensely.
- Now turn it inside out again and iron it a bit more from the underside.
Since high heat is used, ensure a suitable surface. An ironing board with a good and smooth cover is very suitable.
